Job Description: As a Pharmacy Technician at Scituate Pharmacy, you will play a crucial role in assisting our licensed pharmacists in providing top-notch pharmaceutical services to our valued customers. Your responsibilities will encompass various tasks related to the pharmacy’s daily operations, ensuring the safe and efficient dispensing of prescription medicines, and delivering excellent customer service.
Key Responsibilities:
- Medication Management: Accurately and efficiently enter prescription orders under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist, adhering to all legal and ethical guidelines.
- Customer Service: Greet and assist customers with a friendly and professional demeanor, providing information, answering questions, and ensuring an exceptional customer experience.
- Inventory Management: Assist with managing inventory levels, ordering medicines and supplies as needed, and ensuring proper storage and organization of pharmaceutical products.
- Labeling and Packaging: Prepare and label prescription medicines and over-the-counter products, ensuring they are accurately and securely packaged for customers.
- Data Entry: Maintain and update patient records, including prescription and insurance information, in compliance with privacy regulations.
- Assist Healthcare Providers: Collaborate with providers to obtain patient information and help fulfill medicine therapy management (MTM) services.
- Compliance and Safety: Adhere to all regulatory requirements and safety protocols, ensuring the pharmacy operates in accordance with legal and ethical standards.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; completion of a recognized pharmacy technician training program is a plus.
- Current Pharmacy Technician Certification (CPhT) or eligibility to obtain certification within a reasonable time frame.
- Preferred: Immunization Certification through an accredited organization (e.g., APhA).
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Knowledge of pharmaceutical terminology, drug interactions, and pharmacy operations.
- Familiarity with pharmacy software and computer systems.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
- Willingness to adapt to changing pharmacy practices and regulations.
- Working Conditions:
This position involves working in a pharmacy setting, which may include standing for extended periods and lifting moderately heavy objects.
