BTA has been asked to recruit for Tank Welder positions in Ohio, Wisconsin, Kentucky, and New York. The company builds and repairs above ground storage tanks throughout the United States.
Tank Welder - Contract-To-Hire
Job Duties:
- Perform welding tasks using various techniques and equipment, such as MIG, TIG, and arc welding.
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and welding symbols to determine the specific requirements of each project.
- Prepare materials for welding by cleaning, cutting, and shaping metal components.
- Set up and operate welding machines and tools to join or repair metal parts.
- Inspect welded joints and conduct quality control checks to ensure they meet the required specifications.
- Collaborate with other team members to complete projects efficiently and effectively.
Job Requirements:
- Proficient in welding techniques such as MIG, TIG, and arc welding.
- Familiarity with codes and standards related to welding processes.
- Strong knowledge of basic math for measurements and calculations.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and welding symbols.
- Experience with soldering, plasma cutting, micrometer usage, forklift operation, and sheet metal fabrication is a plus.
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to produce high-quality welds.
- Physical stamina to stand for long periods of time and lift heavy materials.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently or as part of a team.
