Job Description: Employee will be responsible for sampling asphalt products to ensure the meet required specifications. To assist in designing asphalt mixes.  To test aggregate material for the design and continued production of the asphalt products being produced.

Duties and Responsibilities: (but are not limited to the following)

Perform sampling, processing, and testing materials used in the production of Hot Mix Asphalt in accordance with AASHTO, ASTM, and VDOT.

Use accepted methods to inspect, sample, and test aggregates, asphalt, or other materials for the purpose of quality control.

Assist in the designing of Asphalt mixes.

Sample and test mixtures to stay in compliance with VDOT specifications and quality control tolerance.

Education:

VDOT's Asphalt plant certification Level 1& 2 preferred, but not required, but must be able to acquire certifications over the winter months. Schooling will be paid for by the company.

Requirements:

Must be self-motivated.

Ability to be flexible with last minute schedule changes, work start times will vary, end of shift is determined                         by the daily schedule and completion of samples.

Overtime required. 

Nights and weekends Must pass a drug test

Must be able to lift and carry 50Lbs.
