Job Description

A lifeguard is responsible for ensuring the safety of patrons in the pool and providing life-saving rescues when necessary. Their duties include supervising swimmers, enforcing safety rules, and saving patrons in emergency situations.

Responsibilities

· Open and close the facility according to scheduled hours.

· Closely monitor activities related to the pool area, identifying safety issues throughout shift.

· Enforcing all safety rules for the pool.

· Regularly testing pool chemicals and report any irregularities to appropriate management.

· Maintain a clean pool and locker room environment.

Qualifications

· Must be at least 15 years old.

· Current American Red Cross Lifeguard Certification or equivalent. We will train!

· Must be able to swim 300 meters of front crawl or breaststroke without stopping.

· Must be able to tread water for 2 minutes using only legs.

· Must be able to retrieve a 10lb brick from the bottom of the deep end (13ft) and swim back to the starting point within 1 minute and 40 seconds.

· Must be able to perform a deep water (13ft) spinal rescue.

Job Type: Part-time

Salary: $15.75 - $17.75 per hour

Expected hours: 16 per week
