The kennel technician attends to the needs of pets in our care during daycare and overnight stays. Some of the duties involved in that care are as follows: Making sure the dogs and cats have fresh water every day and their water is kept clean and free of debris throughout the day. Bedding is changed and laundered daily. Litter boxes are scooped/changed daily Ensure each animal has a clean, dry space for the duration of their stay and clean up accidents as they occur (this will involve urine, feces, vomit, and occasionally blood) Ensure each kennel is clean and disinfected after each pet has left Morning, afternoon, and evening meals are distributed Administer medication when necessary Supervise group and individual play for dogs and puppies Monitor the health and well being of the pets throughout the day/evening. Provide first aid for sick and injured pets and transport them to a veterinary clinic/hospital if required (company vehicle will be available for animal transport) Valid Driver"s License required We will provide training for first aid, canine group play, and force free/fear free/pain free techniques when interacting with dogs and cats. Animal experience appreciated but not required. Must sign the Force Free, Fear Free, Pain Free pledge and be a member of the Pet Professional Guild. Membership dues will be paid for by employer. Because we are a boarding facility and come in contact with clients who travel both within the United States and internationally, we do require staff to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19.
We are busiest on weekends and holidays. We do require availability for both.
