GENERAL SUMMARY:  Minnesota Ultimate seeks a passionate ultimate organizer to manage and accelerate the growth of ultimate programming in the state of Minnesota.  The Program Manager will help manage programs including, but not limited to leagues, tournaments, travel teams, and camps. The selected candidate for this role will report to the Executive Director. This is a full-time position.

Principle Responsibilities

  • Manage existing programs from registration through completion of event
  • Coordinate programming and operational budgets 
  • Manage and train volunteers and independent contractors; including coaches, coordinators, and commissioners
  • Maintain high level of customer service, responding to community members in a timely and professional manner
  • Represent Minnesota Ultimate to both the ultimate community and the greater community of stakeholders and interested parties
  • Market leagues, tournaments, and camps to target populations
  • Work with committees and Director to develop new programs in accordance with the organization’s mission and goals
  • Assist with bookkeeping and office management
  • Attend Board of Directors and committee meetings as needed
  • Other duties as assigned

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience coordinating athletics teams, camps, tournaments and/or leagues
  • Experience recruiting and managing volunteers
  • Knowledge and understanding of the sport of ultimate and the structure of its programming
  • Ability to work as part of a team as well as independently with little direction 
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and changing environment with people of varying age groups and backgrounds
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Strong decision-making skills and the ability to delegate tasks to volunteers
  • Strong interpersonal and conflict resolution skills, and ability to appropriately choose communication style and content based on the situation and person(s) involved
  • Proficiency with internet and email software, as well as Microsoft Office
  • Familiarity with common social media outlets such as Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram

Strongly Preferred Experience

  • Holding leadership positions within the sport of ultimate
  • Procuring sponsorships and grants
  • Experience with bookkeeping, managing project budgets
  • Using online marketing tools
  • Fluent understanding of Social Media

Compensation

  • $42,000 annual salary, paid bi-weekly
  • Stipend for health insurance
  • Eligible for participation in retirement savings plan after completion of established waiting period
  • Reimbursement for criminal background checks and trainings

Minimum Position Requirements

Must be able to work approximately 40 hours/week, with understanding that hours per week vary based on season and current programming

  • Must be available to work occasional weekends, evenings, and holidays
  • Must have a valid driver’s license, consistent access to a vehicle, and have the ability to operate a vehicle to use for work-related travel 
  • Must pass a criminal background check and obtain child abuse history clearances
