About Us: Master Art Studio, located in Ridgewood, NJ, is a private school dedicated to teaching children and adults the fundamentals of fine arts. Position Summary: As a Junior Art Teacher at Master Art Studio, your primary role is to support a Senior Art Teacher in the classroom. Adaptability to their teaching style is crucial for success in this role.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Passion for Working with Children: You will assist a senior art teacher in instructing small groups of students, spanning from 1st graders to 12th graders. Our students thrive under the guidance of a kind and engaging teacher who can tailor their approach to meet each student's unique needs.
  • Mastery of Art Fundamentals: Proficiency in industry-standard materials, a variety of media, and a solid understanding of fine art fundamentals, including composition, perspective, color theory, as well as proficiency in drawing and painting techniques using acrylic and watercolor.
  • Creativity: Ability to utilize a variety of media while maintaining a pleasant and effective interaction with children.
  • Studio Maintenance: Assist in maintaining a clean and organized studio space, including cleaning materials and ensuring an environment conducive to artistic exploration.

Desired Skills & Attributes:

  • 2+ Years of Fine Art Experience: Demonstrated experience in fine art is essential, showcasing your proficiency and dedication to the craft.
  • Organizational & Time Management Skills: Strong organizational skills and effective time management abilities are necessary for success in this role.
  • Associate’s Degree Preferred: While an Associate's degree in art or a related field is preferred, equivalent experience will also be considered.
  • Computer or iPad Art and/or Sewing Ability: Proficiency in Adobe programs and iPad Procreate is a plus. Let us know if you have any art or craft-related experience with different materials not mentioned above.
