Quality Control Field Technician – Lake Wales, FL
(Non-Exempt)
JOB DESCRIPTION
The Quality Control Technician has the responsibility for the quality control testing on projects as required by specifications as needed. We require that they be committed to the total Ajax effort by contributing to the proper completion of the work as directed by the manager.
REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS
The Quality Control Technician directly reports to and is accountable to the Quality Control Manager.
REQUIREMENTS
A. EDUCATION
Required: Graduation from high school and 1-year experience in materials quality control.
B. CERTIFICATIONS
Required:
Preferred:
Asphalt Paving Level 1 and 2.
C. SKILL, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES
To have the ability to be well organized and accurate
Self-motivated with good communications skills
Computer use: Excel and Word.
D. TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS
The essential functions of this position include sitting, standing, walking, climbing, reaching, bending, trunk movements, lifting minimum of 45 lbs., carrying, pushing/pulling, low level work, dexterity of hands and fingers, seeing, hearing and talking.
E. TYPICAL MENTAL DEMANDS
Requires knowledge of general mathematics, reading, writing, and the ability to orally communicate on technical and business topics in English.
F. TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS
Field environment, asphalt lay down operations, manufacturing plants and the labs.
Work is exposed to outdoor conditions, noise and heat.
G. RESPONSIBILITIES

or a logical assignment to the position. Major duties include the following:
1. In accordance with the specifications on those projects requiring testing, do all field testing required.
2. Complete all reports for the required testing.
3. Maintain the company’s quality goal.
4. Help our managers maintain operations training and cross-training programs.
5. Assist in investigating customer complaints and solving problems quickly.
6. Follow safety and OSHA rules.
7. Prepare reports requested by the Quality Control Manager accurately and in a timely
manner.
8. Keep the Quality Control Manager informed of all problems, potential and actual that
can affect the operation.
9. Develop relationships with potential customers and suppliers.
H. AUTHORITY
The Quality Control Technician is granted sufficient authority by the Quality Control Manager to accomplish all the responsibilities that are established for this position to include, but not limited to, the following:
1. Establish with the Quality Control Manager and enforce all productivity standards.
2. Insure all quality standards are met.
3. Insure adherence to all safety and environmental rules and regulations.

position and situation.
