Position Summary

The Grant Coordinator position primarily carries out the implementation of government and foundation grant prospecting and submission activities for current and potential areas of work at KAN-WIN. This position requires strong organizational, communication and writing skills and ability to prioritize as well as multi-task effectively. 

 

Responsibilities:

 

Grant Coordination with Management Team

  • Take responsibility for preparing, writing, and submitting government grant documents, including letters of inquiry, proposals, reports, and contracts in a timely manner.
  • Take responsibility for preparing, writing, and submitting foundation grant documents, including letters of inquiry, proposals, reports, and contracts in a timely manner.
  • Work with ED and the management team to search for government funding opportunities.
  • Assist with compliance requirements, program policy updates and research, and audit preparation.
  • Assure organizational compliance with all state and federal regulations and funding requirements.
  • Work with the management team to identify and maintain a set of service & programmatic evaluative data/factors to demonstrate measurable outcomes to funders and supporters.
  • Research non-governmental grant prospects by identifying new programming areas.

 

Special Events/Grant Project Initiatives

  • Assist as needed in brainstorming and implementing special events and/or grant project initiatives.
  • Help coordinate logistics as part of a team.

 

Administration and Evaluation

  • Ensure accurate record-keeping & grant acknowledgement and other administrative tasks.
  • Work with the team members to create and implement evaluation tools as well as analyze results.

 

Direct Services 

  • Help staff the 24-hour bilingual hotline as needed. 

 

Organizational Duties 

  • Assist and participate in organizational activities such as fundraising and special events.
  • Participate in staff meetings and case review sessions. 
  • Perform other duties as assigned or requested. 

 

Qualifications

Required

  • Strong commitment to KAN-WIN’s mission, values, and goals to enhance culturally & linguistically competent services and programming
  • Ability to communicate effectively in oral and written communications
  • Great attention to detail 
  • Demonstrated ability in working effectively in a team setting
  • Leadership skills and ability to take initiative
  • Experience with Excel and/or other database programs
  • Works effectively with diverse staff and service population

 

Desired

  • Experience in the field of nonprofits, sexual assault and/or domestic violence in immigrant communities, social services or community organizing

 

Work Environment: 

  • Hybrid working environment.
  • This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, scanners, and filing cabinets. 
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. 
  • This is a full-time position. Evening and weekend work occasionally may be required. 
  • Some travel to off-site locations in the Chicago metro or out-of-the-area travel area may be required.

Salary range:

  • $38,000 – $50,000 DOE
