SBIFF Volunteer Manager Job Description

Employment Dates:

December 1st, 2023 – February 29th, 2024

Responsibilities:

The Volunteer Manager is responsible for but not limited to:

• Update volunteer application and information on Festival website
• Update online training material
• Recruit volunteers online and through local schools, businesses and organizations
• Maintain all volunteer information in Database
• Assess the volunteer needs of each department and produce a schedule
• Organize & administer Volunteer Online Orientation and Training meetings
• Train, schedule and oversee a team of interns
• Track volunteer shifts and administer volunteer benefits
• Track positive and negative volunteer notes from team leaders
• Attend to last minute schedule changes, requests and needs
• Address truant or troublesome volunteers

Requirements:

This position requires an individual who is: 

• Organized, quick thinking and self-motivated
• The ability to work both in a team and independently
• Must be committed to providing excellent customer service
• Must be able to handle themselves and others under extreme pressure
• Experience with training programs, instructing individuals and teams
• Possess excellent verbal and written communications skills
• Ability to interact professionally and demonstrate good judgment
• Extended hours and a flexible schedule are necessary leading up to and during the Festival and other special events
