Massage Therapist job description:
Job Summary
Performs various massage therapy and bodywork techniques within their scope of practice.Develops treatment plans considering the client's (participant's) wish, concern or challenge in relation to their physical or medical condition.Documents the sessions using acceptable formats for the therapies performed.Educates the participant(s) in an individual or small group setting.Familiar in the use of equipment and procedures.Attends marketing campaigns and massage related events.
General AccountabilitiesProvides physical evaluation techniques to determine muscle and joint flexibility/stability, visceral motility, postural (im)balances and functional movement patterns within one's scope of knowledge and practice.Performs therapy to ease pain, manage stress, promote relaxation amd improve function.Develops treatment plans by determining clinical data provided by the participant, their healthcare team and/or prescribed by the doctor(s).Takes into consideration the medical history of the participant. Oberves precautions and contraindications.Uses therapeutic devices and techniques.Designs, demonstrates and practices appropriate exercise and self-care programs with the participant for these to be performed during the session and/or on their own.Observes safety procedures. Reports potentially unsafe conditions. Uses good body mechanics. Uses equipment and materials properly.Responds to the participant's needs and requests. Encourages feedback and communication.Documents therapeutic sessions. Intake and SOAP Notes.Performs clerical duties.Attends educational and team meetings.Attends special events, as assigned.
Must be available to work at least one (1) weekend per month.
Must keep all documents pertaining to massage therapy up to date including: Insurance, Background checks, CEU's, CPR, CMT & LMT.Must be able to perform the minimum required massage modalities: Swedish, Sports, Deep Pressure, Prenatal

Salary: $30.00 - $50.00 per hour
