Snow Removal Driver

JOB SUMMARY:

The purpose of the position is to respond in a timely manner to snow events and assisting in completing effective and safe snow removal throughout the areas assigned and assisting locations outside the coverage area when needed. The position is required to perform all tasks in an effective, complete, and professional manner and is responsible for adhering to all policies and values of Humble Home Chore Service, LLC. while at work. During snow & ice season employees are typically split into an A or B shift, 12:00 am - 12:00 pm (A shift) or 12:00pm - 12:00am (B shift); an employee may be asked to work 8-hours of work or more depending on the length of the snow event. The Snow plow Driver works under the direction of the Administrator.

● Always represent the company’s best interest, maintain the highest level of integrity and professionalism.

● Maintain a clean and safe job site, while ensuring current landscape and property is not damaged in the efforts of removing snow.

● It is required that all drivers wear cold weather gear to protect themselves against adverse weather conditions.

● Work as part of a team and take direction.

● Understand and meet scheduled deadlines without sacrificing great customer service or excellent quality

● Maintains driveways, sidewalks, walkways, decks and road in front of residential homes for snow and ice control: removes snow from driveways, in front of homes, curbs, removes snow from rights of way or yards; applies anti-icing and de-icing chemicals on driveway, walkways, sidewalks and decks under slippery conditions; removes frozen ice

● They are responsible for understanding their snow plow routes, for each property, where they will push snow in a plow truck and need to have general knowledge of the workings of plow trucks. This ensures each job site is completed accurately and effectively. Thus, meeting company standards and client expectations.

● Complete pre and post Vehicle Inspection Report (VIR)

● Prepares and inspects winter equipment-maintains snow plow equipment, cutting edges and clean equipment post storm

● Performs preseason snow route inspection and performs post storm cleanup including machine or hand sweeping of sidewalks and driveways

● Maintains documentation on snow and ice data for accurate reporting of inventory and resource management

● Perform other tasks or projects as assigned/instructed by management, such as but not limited to, staking, refilling salt supplies, cleaning vehicles, reporting damages, and other duties as assigned

Responsibilities:

● This is a weather dependent position with no guaranteed hours.

● Weather elements: May require frequent exposure to weather elements (cold/ice)

● Reports for duty at the designated location and time and ready to work.

● Available to work 24/7, including holidays and weekends during snow storms.

● Must have a cell phone that can be reached 24/7 and ability to download & use our apps to track work, time, and proof-of-service photos.

● Previous snow removal experience with residential locations (preferred)

● Proficiently and safely use snow plow trucks with blades, other power, and manually operated tools and equipment used to perform snow removal ● Safely and appropriately distribute de-icing solutions, including calcium chloride or rock salt.

● Check the oil of the plow truck before and after the snow event. Grease salt trucks. Check all fluids. Clean trash out of salt trucks Safely and efficiently operate equipment.

● Follows company safety, personnel, and procedure policies.

● Maintains a clean and professional work site and truck/trailer.

● Check equipment operation before use. Inform the service department of any deficiencies within the snowplow truck.

● Places snow in the dedicated locations, at each site.

● Strong attention to detail.

● Highly motivated, self-driven, flexible, strong work ethic and detailed oriented

● Must be professional in appearance and actions.

● Great time management skills; available for seasonal long hours, a clear schedule to work all hours of the day, any day of the week and a strong work ethic.

● This position will require, although rare, potential holiday work.

● Punctual and dependable with a can-do attitude.

● Ability to work effectively with individuals of differing backgrounds, knowledge and skill levels

Qualifications:

●Must have a valid driver’s license with a clean MVR (5 years) and current auto insurance coverage. This is required to use company vehicle/equipment

● High school or equivalent.

● Must have immediate access to a phone and be able to report to work within one-hour of being called

● Plow: 1 year (Preferred)

● Proficient equipment and power tool operator

● Must be available every snow event

● Leadership ability for problem solving (Preferred)

● Quality and results driven

Physical Requirements:

● Sit for long periods of time, stand, walking, stoop, bend, lift, kneel, crouch or crawl or carry objects for short distances

● Work in adverse weather including heat, cold, snow, ice wind, and rain

● Frequently required to lift and/or move up to 50+ pounds solo or 100+ pounds with assistance

● Specific vision abilities required include close vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.

● Constantly required to communicate with the ability to talk and hear.

● Job will require constantly working outdoors in all types of weather conditions and exposure to elements.

● This can include heavy to moderate noise, extreme proximity to moving equipment or machinery, proximity to electrical energy, exposure to tools and machines used in construction industries.

Pay Rate:

● $24.31 per hour

● Possibility of bonus at the end of the season for no missed shifts
