The Physical Education Coach is a part-time member of the faculty. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Teach physical education skills, sportsmanship, and teamwork to a wide range of ages across the school. 

• Develop lesson and unit plans that support educational goals.

• Differentiate approach as needed for individual students.

• Attend professional development training, weekly staff meetings and actively participate within a learning community whenever the schedule permits. 

• Communicate effectively with classroom teachers, administration, and parents.

• Coordinate with administrators and other staff members to create an environment focused on meeting students’ academic and social-emotional needs.

• Use measurable data, track student performance and enrich their progress with visible results.

• Contribute to the improvement of practices and procedures that will build upon the school’s success.

• Use Positive Discipline strategies to guide student progress in developing social and emotional skills that will help them navigate a path to higher levels of perseverance, physical success and overall health.

• Develop lesson and unit plans.

• Support and guide students requiring extra help with classroom expectations or social emotional challenges.

• Plan, organize and supervise class projects, games, and other recreational activities to promote physical and social development.

• Assume responsibilities outside of the classroom, such as lunch duty and recess duty, schedule permitting. 

Required: 

• BA or BS degree in subject matter

• CPR/First Aid Certification 

• Must have strong speaking and listening skills with students, parents, teachers, and school administrators. 

• Teaching certification preferred.
