Job Description: Director of Operations, Madison Church: Square Campus

Primary Purpose:To empower ministry by managing the facilities and operations of Madison Church: Square Campus.

Hours: Full time, 40 hours per week

Accountable to: Madison Church Square Campus Pastor of Congregational Life

Gift Set: Administration, communication, team-building, craftsmanship

 

Education/ Experience:

● Administration and management experience preferred but not required

● Building and Management certification or degree preferred but not required

● Experienced and knowledgeable in commercial building maintenance and upkeep.

 

Responsibilities:

Maintenance and Capital Improvements

● Maintain the property of Madison Church in the areas of heating and cooling, electrical, plumbing, roofing, loss prevention, fire prevention and general repairs.

● Obtain bids and hire approved outside contractors when necessary.

● Schedule church vehicles for service and repair.

● Maintain buildings, grounds and parking areas to present a positive image to the congregation and to the community.

● Secure building and premises.

 

Team Supervision

● Train, oversee, and schedule individuals for the building service team.

● Communicate employee or facility concerns and make recommendations for resolution.

● Maintain appropriate communications with volunteers supporting operations

● Oversee, implement and update the planned facility maintenance schedule

● Supervise set up, cleaning and maintaining individual church rooms for ministry needs.

● Provide leadership and direction to the building service team members, cultivating strong team unity and support

● Serve as a bridge between church ministry and support teams and provide general operational support where needed, ensuring that the Square campus is supported for thriving ministry.

 

Financial Management

● Develop an annual budget for buildings and grounds, and manage expenditures accordingly.

● Submit invoices for payment and oversee operational expenses of the Square Campus

 

Qualifications:

● A committed Christ-follower and in agreement with Madison Church’s vision, mission, values and beliefs

● Excellent relational, oral and written communication skills with ability to mentor others

● Ability to administer and connect multiple systems, and to think strategically for systemic improvement

● Working knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, construction and mechanical systems.

● Posses a solid understanding of the bid process required in hiring outside contractors.

● Working knowledge of basic computer applications and facility management software

● Experienced in multicultural organizations and possesses the ability to build relationships and lead effectively in diverse environments
