About us

Excelsior School of Philadelphia is a privately owned elementary school in the Germantown/Mt. Airy area. We are the only preschool and private school in the city that is licensed by The Department of Education as well as The Department of Human Services. We have about 130 students and teach Pre-k through 5th grade. Excelsior has a challenging curriculum, small class sizes, before/aftercare, transportation, and more!

Responsibilities:
- Create and implement age-appropriate lesson plans and activities for preschool children
- Provide a safe and nurturing environment for children to learn and grow
- Foster social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development through play and structured activities
- Monitor and assess each child's progress and provide feedback to parents/guardians
- Collaborate with other teachers and staff to create a positive learning environment
- Maintain accurate records of attendance, behavior, and developmental milestones

Experience:
- Previous experience working with preschool-aged children in a daycare or educational setting
- Knowledge of child welfare and development principles
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to create engaging and interactive lessons that promote learning in various subjects, including math and physical education
- Experience in tutoring or providing additional support to children with diverse learning needs is a plus

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $15.00 - $16.00 per hour
