Caseworker Assistant/Client Support

Looking for an up-beat, energetic and organized person who enjoys helping people. This is a full time contract position/32 hours per week located in St. Helens, OR. This position will be housed at the DHS Self-sufficiency office working directly with DHS Family Coaches.

  • Ability to follow up and follow through on tasks and projects to completion
  • The ability to take direction from and report to multiple supervisors
  • Understand and follow written and oral instructions, guidelines and procedures

JOB DUTIES:

  • Assist clients in meeting their case plans
  • Reporting/Data entry: prepare and maintain clear, accurate, complete and timely records in the DHS data base.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality and professional boundaries with all clients served
  • Collaborate with community partners in order to identify alternative resources and support services
  • Engage the family out of the home and out of the SSP office
  • Participate in staffing to discuss participant/family progress
  • Home visits

DESIRED SKILLSET/EXPERIENCE: Experience in or knowledge of:

  • Social and economic issues that create poverty
  • Helping adults identify ways to achieve greater self- sufficiency
  • Experience with case management and assessing participant/family strengths and service needs
  • Experience creating and maintaining written documentation concerning cases
  • Experience working in a social/human services field or relatable skills
  • At least one years’ experience in a social services field and knowledge or awareness of low-income or homeless families and the issues facing them
  • Any bi-lingual fluency preferred but not required
  • General computer, word processing and spreadsheet skills
  • Candidate must be drug free and able to pass a criminal background check including Child Protective Services. Must have: High School diploma/GED, valid drivers' license and a reliable personal vehicle, acceptable driving record, and have current auto insurance
