Assistant Teacher - Spanish Speaker Preschool (Intern - Part Time) NOW

Open Minds Early School is seeking an Assistant Teacher (Spanish speaker) to support our team at our Spanish immersion and Reggio Emilia-inspired preschool for children between the ages of 1 and 5. The Assistant Teacher will work closely with the lead teacher to create a stimulating and developmentally appropriate learning environment for the children in the classroom, in alignment with the Reggio Emilia approach and Spanish immersion methodologies.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist the lead teacher in the planning and implementation of curriculum in alignment with the Reggio Emilia approach and Spanish immersion methodologies
• Support the lead teacher in the daily activities that foster the children's physical, emotional, cognitive and social development
• Provide support and guidance to the children during play and learning activities
• Help to create a classroom environment that is safe, nurturing, and inclusive for all children
• Communicate regularly with families to provide updates on their child's progress and to gather information to support learning
• Collaborate with the lead teacher, program director, learning specialists and other teachers to support the learning and development of each child in the program
• Attend and participate in meetings, trainings, and professional development opportunities as required

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Minimum of experience working in an early childhood education setting
• Strong understanding of child development and best practices in early childhood education
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work effectively in a collaborative and team-oriented environment
• Bilingual Spanish-English
