Use your expertise to train and influence the next wave of youth advocates in our Residential Teen Program in Hingham, Ma. The Youth Advocate Supervisor provides supervision and guidance to staff who are assigned to certain shifts. The youth advocate supervisor oversees the specific activities and groups that are scheduled to take place. This position is responsible for the safety and support required by youth and staff. Any emergency or unforeseen circumstance is handled by the Youth Advocate Supervisor.
What you will be doing to make a difference:
• Supervise direct care staff
• Implement and supervise appropriate activities for youth
• Ensure that the environment is safe, clean and secure
• Organizes schedule of activities and ensures that milieu activities are carried out by staff
• Ensures that the program’s rules, policies and licensing requirements are adhered to
• Manages emergencies and ensures clients and staff’s safety
• Ensures that all shift logs, daily notes, incident reports, and any other required documents are completed within program guidelines for quality and timeliness
• Provides leadership and direction and serves as a role model
• Carries out duties as assigned by the Leadership Team
• Rotates on-call responsibilities as required by the program
• Serves as a positive role model, following program guidelines
• Supports youth with developing daily living skills
• Forms therapeutic relationships with youth by engaging in daily activities in the milieu
• Participates in de-escalation and physical interventions of youth when required
• Drives youth to school, appointments, and recreational activities

Requirements
Qualifications/Credentials
• Bachelor’s level degree in Human Services field or related field preferred
• 1 year experience working with adolescents is preferred
• Residential experience preferred
• Experience with systems (e.g. DMH, DCF) preferred
• Additional languages desirable, though not required
• Able to learn, carry out and be certified in CPI physical interventions, and de-escalation techniques
• Able to learn, carry out and be certified in MAP, CPR and first aid
• MAP (Medication Administration Program) certification preferred
• Proficient writing and computer skills
• Ability to read, write and speak English
• Valid MA driver’s license with acceptable driving record and current proof of insurance
• Acceptable CORI, SORI and DEEC background record check including fingerprinting
