Petitioners Needed! This is Not a Fundraising Position.

Join our campaign to qualify a ballot initiative in Massachusetts to legalize the use of psilocybin and other natural medicines as a therapeutic option for treating PTSD, addiction, depression, and other serious medical issues that affect countless people in Massachusetts. We are in the midst of a serious national mental health crisis and legalizing therapeutic plant medicines will offer an additional tool to help those experiencing mental health challenges.

We’re urgently hiring campaign staff to gather petition signatures from Massachusetts voters to put an important initiative on the ballot in 2024! Petitioners are paid hourly to canvas busy public places and ask passersby to stop and sign a petition with their name and date saying they want the chance to vote on the issue.

We are hiring immediately, all positions run through November with possibilities for continued work in November. Shifts run between 10:30am - 6:30pm weekdays and weekends with the possibility to work part-time or full-time. Additional shift times may be offered over the course of the campaign.

Get paid well! Petitioner positions start at $21/hour. Leadership positions start at $23/hour. We offer overtime pay, driver bonuses, shift bonuses, paid training, sick pay, and bonuses for friend referrals.

Stay Safe!  We provide Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). 

Petitioner Responsibilities ($21/hr+):

- Engage with the public in a friendly and respectful manner

- Deliver a compelling campaign message, and collect complete survey answers from voters

- Participate in staff training to improve outreach skills

- Strictly follow the campaign's safety protocols, including the use of PPE and compliance with daily health and safety guidelines

Team Leader Responsibilities ($23/hr+):

-The Petitioner Responsibilities plus:

-Manage a small group of petitioners out in the field by checking in with them periodically throughout the day and debriefing with them at the end of the day

-Ensure each petitioner has all of the materials they need to be safe and successful

-Assist directors with petitioner training and administrative work

 

The ideal candidate:

-Passionate about this issue

-Strong communication skills; you should enjoy working with other people and be willing and excited to speak with everyone

-Hard worker who will stay motivated to engage as many people as possible

-Interested in building their campaign skills

-Culturally competent and able to respectfully engage with teammates and the community

Prior petitioning, political, canvassing, or grassroots organizing experience is a plus but is not required.
