SUMMARY
To provide compassionate and evidence-based care, offering therapy and support to clients, while helping them navigate their emotions, develop coping strategies, and work towards their personal goals. Foster a safe and therapeutic environment where clients can explore their thoughts, feelings, behaviors, ultimately fostering growth, healing, and improved well-being.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Acts as backup to complete intake assessments and documentation with new clients within the time frames set forth in company policy.
Following intake, completes the initial diagnosis and criteria for medical necessity.
Develops a Treatment Plan in coordination with the client, taking into consideration the client’s strengths, needs, abilities, preferences, and the appropriate level of care or services; reviews the plan with the client and provides them with a copy.
Completes and documents a Treatment Plan Review in coordination with the client, family, or other support persons at regular intervals, consistent with the level of care or service.
Ensures services provided are appropriate for the unique challenges of the patient and evidenced-based in nature, documentation is completed in accordance with the requirements of the State, the payor, and accreditation standards.
Strongly encourages family members and other support persons of the client to engage and participate in the recovery process including, but not limited to, participation in family therapy and educational sessions.
Provides an individual therapy session to clients assigned to caseload at minimum of one time weekly for 50 minutes; utilizes evidenced-based therapeutic approaches and interventions; documents weekly progress in the client’s EMR.
Engages in risk assessments with clients on a regular basis and takes appropriate action to respond to clinical crises such as suicide ideation, self-harm, relapse, violence, or desire to leave treatment prematurely; documents crisis interventions appropriately, utilizing safety planning.
Contact the Clinical Director immediately by phone when the risk the client is identified, or when there is an identified crisis
Facilitates process, skill building, psychoeducational, and/or support groups in accordance with provided group curriculum; promptly documents group notes in the client record the same day of service delivery.
Works in coordination with the Utilization Review department to prove medical necessity of services to the client’s insurance company.
Works cooperatively with other community resources and referral sources to coordinate services with clients. Provides referrals appropriate to the client’s needs and preferences, including referrals that are in-network to the client’s insurance plan, when applicable.
Documents discussions with the client related to discharge throughout the client’s treatment episode; makes every effort to facilitate a planned client discharge; completes all discharge forms in accordance with company policy.
Knows and follows confidentiality law and procedures at all times, follows the company’s ethical code, and maintains appropriate boundaries with clients at all times.
Completes all documentation in accordance with company policies and procedures and to the standard of the requirements set forth by state and federal law, accrediting agencies, and the requirements of the payer. Recognizes the quality of clinical documentation directly influences the rate of reimbursement from payers; uses appropriate clinical terminology and language, facilitates the client signature on required documents when applicable and signs all written documentation immediately at the time of completion with their credentials and signature.
Remains calm during crisis situations; calls 9-1-1 immediately if there is a medical emergency, begins CPR or First Aid if necessary, and immediately informs the Nursing Manager, or their designee.
Attends the Clinical Treatment Team meeting one time weekly as scheduled; arrives on time and comes prepared to engage with the treatment team, exchanging relevant information, and to receive training.
Attends individual supervision one time weekly and comes prepared to present clinical cases in a concise, organized fashion, and to receive feedback from the Clinical Director regarding interventions and case situations.
Represents Hidden Strength in a professional and credible manner, acting as the face of the clinical department instilling Company mission and values in all interactions with Company employees, contractors, outside vendors, and patients and their families.
Cultivates an environment in which safety of both patients and staff is a priority.
Carries out other responsibilities and special projects as delegated by the Clinical Director.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Master’s degree in psychology, social work, or a related field.
Valid license to practice therapy, social work, or counseling in good standing.
Minimum of two years’ experience in a behavioral health setting in a client-facing role.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS
Live scan completed annually with results in compliance with State regulations, accreditation standards, and Company policy.
TB test completed within seven days of employment and retested every year.
CPR / First Aid certification obtained within 30 days of employment and renewed every two years.
