Hourly Rate: $20/hour, minimum of 10 hours up to 35 hours per week

Position Overview:  ​​The Constituent Aide will serve as a pivotal bridge between one or more Boise City Councilmembers and their constituents. This person will be a professional and empathetic ear for community members to share their thoughts, and ensure that all feedback is effectively communicated, understood, and addressed.

Our ideal candidate is personable and outgoing, with outstanding communication skills and a background in politics, community organizing and/or nonprofit work.

This is a part-time, in-person position that will last through the election on November 7, 2023 with the possibility of extending employment. 

Key Responsibilities:

Door-to-Door Canvassing:

  • Accompany local elected officials during extensive door-to-door outreach campaigns.

  • Engage with constituents and document interactions, including concerns, feedback, and any needed follow-up actions.

Recording & Reporting:

  • Maintain comprehensive records of each constituent interaction.

  • Share feedback from the field with the elected official during weekly meetings.

Follow-Up Management:

  • Ensure timely execution of all promised follow-up actions.

  • Utilize various communication methods to update constituents on the status of their feedback.

Team Collaboration & Training:

  • Attend a weekly team meeting to discuss constituent issues, share insights, and undergo training.

  • Collaborate closely with other team members, ensuring alignment with the campaign's broader goals.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or equivalent.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

  • Proficiency with basic office software (e.g., Microsoft Word, Excel).

  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including some weekends and evenings.

  • Ability to stay on your feet outside for a few hours at a time while conducting door-to-door canvassing
