Public Relations Intern
We are a team of highly creative communications specialists that work with companies, and brands disrupting how we live, work and play. We are looking for an energetic intern to join our team! This is a paid position in our New York City office. The ideal candidate is hard working, detail oriented, organized and high energy with the ability to multitask. This is a great opportunity for anyone seeking to learn about Public Relations or wanting to expand their experience further with seasoned PR experts. The role will require you in office 3 days a week so NYC based is preferred.
Responsibilities Include:
Research for editorial/media opportunities (online, print, broadcast)
Preparing documents for internal and external
Editing and writing press releases, news articles, and other marketing materials about company products, events, and other related news
New business efforts including analysis/research
New monitoring protocols across accounts
As an intern, you will:
Experience working with PR entrepreneurs across several different industries and become acquainted with key influencers
Be able to contribute and write material that will be used online and around the world
Have the opportunity to be independent, but also work with an experienced team eager to mentor and foster your development
Become familiar with day-to-day and program/project implementation
Knowledge & Skills
Background in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, or other related disciplines a plus
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
Experience working with Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Google+, Pinterest, Flickr, and Instagram
Working knowledge of Muckrack, Leadership Directories or Cision is a plus
Familiarity with Google Analytics, AdWords, SEO strategy, social media marketing, etc. is a plus
An ability to convey compelling messages, both in person and in writing, and write in various styles for diverse audiences
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Ability to show initiative, multi-task, prioritize, and meet deadlines
Requirements:
Internships require working at least 25 hours per week.
You must be an undergraduate student in your junior or senior year.
Interns are not eligible for company benefits.
