Join our growing business! Binny’s is one of Oakland’s hottest craft cocktail bars and restaurants. We need professional team players. We’re seeking a creative, collaborative and experienced manager to join up and help set the course.

Binny’s is all about creating a space for our team to be innovative and love what they do. The ideal candidate will be an active and visible presence who takes ownership of the overall customer experience. We value our customers and want them to feel welcome, appreciated and seen.

In most cases the duties described below are already enacted in one form or another however things such as opening checklists, end of day, PAR etc need to be maintained, taught, improved upon and enforced.

Below are duties primarily the responsibility of the manager however said manager will have the two owners support and backing and skilled employees capable of following a leaders direction.

POS:
Manage all menu items and products in the SpotON POS so it is intuitive and easy to use, minimizing the number of steps to enter orders.
Train staff on the POS
Answer calls from staff if any serious problems arise with the POS during a shift then
reconcile total sales with products used that week.
Create a SpotOn reports that is run weekly (or a configurable time-frame)


Ordering Process, Inventory and PARs
Manage liquor, wine, beer and soda ordering to a budget.
Work with owners on product and cost
Manage deliveries in and sign off on invoices
Keep Inventory Up to Date


Manager Shifts:
Be available to open 2-4 days, do books, provide a bartender bank and reconcile the previous night's sales.
On days you are not opening manager work with ownership to divide responsibilities.
Be available as on-call manager to close a couple of times a week


Facilities:
Ensure the walk in is orderly, clean, to code and juices, syrups are labeled with dates
Make sure hand skinks have towels, train staff on how to ensure we’d pass health
Organize deep cleans as necessary. Create and maintain the system for ordering new facility products: Toilet paper, paper towels, cleaning supplies, straws, napkins, glassware (non-perishables) PARs
Clean 4 beer taps. 2-3 weeks


Cocktail Menu:
Develop / R&D Binny’s cocktail menu and update 2-4 times a year
Create drink special for events/parties
Train staff on new programs
Update and Print menus as necessary


Perishable Ingredients and Ordering:
Ensure all necessary ingredients are in house for the current cocktail menu.
Create and manage PARs for those.
Prep all necessary ingredients and syrups or delegate those tasks.
Create document with specs and ensure bartenders understand new cocktails


Steps of Service:
Ensure there's consistency across the drinks, food and customer experience. (For example if we all agree food is paid for when ordered, someone needs to follow up to ensure that is what's happening.)
Train staff on Steps of service

Help with events:
Email with customers on different packages, help charge and ensure events go off well


Shifts:
Work as lead bartender on at least 3 shifts
Be available for 2 or more openings (do books, provide bartender bank, and be a presence). Only need to be present for 1.5-2 Hours
On-Site event manager (private buyouts)


Staff Scheduling and Training:
Create staffing schedules
Oversee shift swaps/ call outs
Create opening and closing checklists
Create side work checklists
These are done. Maintaining them
Ensure staff are compliant with Binny’s handbook
Onboarding new employees/Stage
Ongoing employee training

Events:
Respond to event requests
Coordinate catering with Willie
