Our client is a biotech company developing an innovative synthetic biology platform to create a new and unique class of biological medicines. We are dedicated to the development of these novel therapies to help patients suffering from cancer and other serious diseases.
This position is for a Research Associate/Senior Research Associate reporting to an Associate Director, Pharmacology. We seek an enthusiastic, collaborative individual with strong scientific rigor and excellent communication skills to support our drug discovery programs. The main responsibilities will focus on planning and executing in vitro and ex vivo assays to define PK and PD properties of new drugs candidates. This will include but not be limited to tissue and sample processing, cell binding and cytotoxicity assays. The successful candidate should expect to routinely perform cell culture and conduct experiments using western blotting, flow cytometry and other plate-based assays. Good skills in data analysis, interpretation, presentation, and prowess in data record keeping will be essential. This is a full- time position and is located at our corporate headquarters in San Diego, CA.
Responsibilities:
-Conduct, and analyze experiments using western blotting, flow cytometry and cell-based assays
-Clearly document, interpret, and present results to diverse audiences
-Support other team members and help organize/upkeep work environment
Requirements:
-BS in biomedical sciences or a related scientific field with with 2+ years of relevant laboratory experience in drug development and/or cancer research.
-Experience in tissue culture and aseptic techniques
-Experience in tissue processing, cell isolation and enrichment
-Experience in designing, implementing and analyzing experiments using western blotting, flow cytometry and other cell-based assays
-In vivo work experience (animal handling, blood collection, dosing, necropsy, tissue dissections, tumor models) is a plus but candidates without it will be considered
-Strong computer skills, including GraphPad Prism, FloJo, and MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint• Attention to detail and ability to identify and solve scientific problems
-Excellent communication and organizational skills
-Effective and collaborative cross-functional team member in a fast-paced, goal-oriented environment
-Able to extract relevant information from scientific literature and online databases
