We are seeking a trauma therapist to join our team!

We are Nourish Carolina Counseling, a woman owned, trauma-focused private counseling practice located in north Raleigh. We help kids, adolescents, adults, couples, and families in restoring balance, reducing mental health symptoms, and improving quality of life. We accept self-pay and are paneled with BCBS and Aetna. We offer in-person counseling sessions at our 6-office suite near Millbrook and Six Forks as well as via telehealth. Our team is passionate, skilled, curious, and uniquely trained in various trauma modalities. For a better idea of who we are and to see if you feel aligned with our philosophy, niches and therapeutic practices, check out our website by googling Nourish Carolina Counseling

Things you should know:

You must have an active license to practice mental health counseling in the state of North Carolina. Please do not apply for this position if you do not have a clinical license overseen by a licensing board (LCMHC/A, LCSW/A, LMFT/A, etc.). We encourage associate or provisionally licensed therapists to apply, and we will pay for your supervision towards your full licensure.

This is a 1099 contractor position. We chose this business model for several important reasons that are aligned with our values, and we are seeking a clinician who prefers a contract position. You will choose when you work, how many days you work, if you see clients via telehealth or in person at our office, how many clients you see, and the clients you decide to take on. You can take time off when you need it and manage your own caseload as you see fit while we offer you clinical and administrative support.

We pay our contractors using a 70/30 split-fee model where you receive 70% of each session fee and we receive 30%. Per our self-pay rates and contracts with BCBS and Aetna, contractors can expect to receive roughly $104 per session. You have control over your earning potential, which will depend on your personal values, how many clients you choose to see each week, and whether your clients are paying out-of-pocket or using their insurance. This will be discussed at greater length during the interview.

We handle all referrals, marketing, billing, insurance credentialing, paperwork, and administrative tasks. Your role is to provide excellent clinical care and document and schedule your sessions. We’ll provide you with clients that are aligned with your clinical skill set to decrease your burnout and support your nervous system. We’ll provide the referrals, and you decide which referrals you’ll take on as new clients.

Clinicians who are self-motivated, self-directed and know themselves and their boundaries flourish at our practice. If you are looking for daily management support, then this may not be a good fit for you. While we are a team and we support each other, we expect you to manage your clinical and administrative duties without much oversight. We have a monthly practice consultation group where we consult on cases, drink coffee, and connect over life as therapists.

We prioritize safety and inclusivity at our practice, and we’re seeking to create a diverse team that closely matches the diversity of our client populations. We are committed to building a team that is inclusive of all people, including those of LGBTQIA communities, members of all ethnic groups, people with disabilities and medical conditions, foreign-born residents, and veterans. All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, gender, gender identity or expression, sexual orientation, national origin, genetics, disability, age, or veteran status.

In addition to the above considerations, you will be more likely to be considered for this position if:

- You are trained and/or have experience in working with individuals with trauma histories. Modalities we would be excited to see would be EMDR, SE, IFS, TF-CBT, brainspotting, CA, PCIT, somatic therapies, hypnotherapy, attachment theory, applied polyvagal trainings, etc).

- You have been previously paneled with BCBS or Aetna under a group or solo NPI.

- You are interested in seeing clients both in person at our office in north Raleigh and from home via telehealth. This hybrid model is helpful because we receive referrals from folx wanting in person and virtual sessions.

- You would like to see a baseline of 15-20 clients per week. You can see as many as you want, however we are seeking a *full time* therapist and are not looking for anyone who only wants to see a handful of folx per week.

- You are actively anti-racist and aware of the intersections of oppression of marginalized groups in our society. LGBTQIA aligned and informed. We do not tolerate discrimination and Nourish Carolina Counseling takes the safety of our space very seriously.
