Farm Market Manager
Highland Orchards is currently seeking a candidate who has a basic understanding of food production and food service as well as business aptitude. Our ideal candidate will demonstrate a positive attitude, good work ethic, common sense, multi-tasking abilities, people and organizational skills, leadership, and business acumen to align, motivate, and manage our market team and products to maintain profitability, a safe and healthy working environment, attractive displays, and outstanding customer service and satisfaction.
Responsibilities include:
• Key holder – responsible for opening/closing/shift supervision
• Communication with vendors and entire team
• Inventory management and timely product selection and ordering
• Develop vendor relationships for purchases and sales
• Maintenance of displays, pricing and signage
• Team on-boarding, training, and performance reviews
• POS equipment (Clover) management and operation
• Bakery assistance and oversight
• Scheduling work shifts and deployment
• Answering phones and processing orders
• Food safety and workplace safety code and policy enforcement
Requirements:
• Available during peak harvest season weekends (May-November)
• Available up to 5 days a week between the hours of 8am and 6pm
• Able to stand, walk for 6-8 hours
• Able to lift up to 25 lbs
• Display interpersonal skills dealing with customers and team members
• Basic computer skills
We are looking for someone who has experience with food handling, displays, and customer service.
We are looking for someone who is flexible, knowledgeable, and responsible and also passionate about local agriculture. We are looking for a fast learner who can work independently and go with the flow of our busy and complex operation. Computer literacy is preferable, since we have a computer and printer for inventory, pricing, and making signs.
