We are a large outdoor power equipment dealer in Summit County Ohio. We are looking to fill a Parts Manger/service writer position.
Job Summary: We are currently seeking a dedicated and experienced individual to join our team as a Retail Parts Manager and Service Writer. In this role, you will be responsible for managing the parts department and providing exceptional customer service as a service writer. Your main objective will be to ensure efficient operations, oversee inventory management, and deliver a high level of customer satisfaction.
Responsibilities: Retail Parts Manager:
Manage the overall operations of the parts department, including inventory management, ordering, and receiving.
Develop and implement effective strategies to optimize parts sales and achieve revenue targets.
Supervise parts counter staff, providing guidance, training, and support to ensure efficient performance.
Ensure accurate inventory control through regular stock checks, reconciliations, and replenishment.
Collaborate with the service department to provide timely parts support for repairs and maintenance.
Maintain strong relationships with parts suppliers, negotiating pricing and securing favorable terms.
Monitor market trends and industry developments to stay updated on the latest parts and accessories.
Oversee the parts department's cleanliness, organization, and adherence to safety standards.
Service Writer:
Greet customers and assist them with their service needs, effectively communicating vehicle issues and repair requirements.
Document customer concerns and vehicle information accurately, ensuring all necessary details are captured.
Prepare service estimates and obtain customer approval for repairs, explaining costs and timelines clearly.
Coordinate with the service technicians to ensure efficient workflow and timely completion of repairs.
Provide regular updates to customers on the status of their machines and address any questions or concerns.
Assist in scheduling service appointments and managing the service department's workload.
Ensure accurate billing and invoicing, reviewing work orders for completeness and accuracy.
Maintain customer records and service history in the database accurately and securely.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or training in equipment parts or service management is preferred.
Proven experience in a retail parts management or service writer role within the outdoor power or related industry is preferred but not necessary.
Strong knowledge of automotive parts, systems, and service processes.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to provide exceptional customer service.
Proficient in computer systems and software applications relevant to inventory management and service writing.
Detail-oriented with strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
Leadership skills to effectively supervise and motivate a team.
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and customer-focused environment.
Flexibility to work weekends or extended hours, if required.
