Required Qualifications:

Early Childhood Intern Certificate from Delaware First
Must have a High School Diploma or GED. Additional training may be needed.
Experience working with children preschool age or younger in a group setting.


Responsibilities:

-Demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills.
-Interact with children and encourage their involvement in activities.
-Instruct children with a compassionate and nurturing method (as directed by Director or Lead Teacher).
-Greet children individually and with warmth and friendliness.
-Help to maintain an environment of warmth, safety, and compassion.
-Be responsible for the health, well-being, and safety of children.
-Review each individual child’s classroom files with regard to their medical and developmental histories as needed
-Interact with parents
-Maintain confidentiality of children and family’s personal information and center files/information at all times.
-The Early Childhood intern works with the lead and assistant teachers to provide a warm and loving atmosphere for children ages 2 to 5 years.
-Teachers and interns work together to support the academic and social development of the children.
-Light toileting assistance as needed.
