SOCIAL MEDIA COORDINATOR
Reports to: Shift Lead, Manager, Operations Manager, Owner

Salary Grade: Entry level, Non-exempt, up to 40 hours per week
The Peacock Room Family of Shops’ mission is to enhance Detroit communities through the empowerment of women, attentive service, an awe-inspiring environment, and an offering of quality apparel and accessories.
The social media coordinator will be responsible for all facets of the online marketing aspect of our businesses. This coordinator is expected to deliver attentive service, assist in creating an elevated experience both internally and externally. The coordinator will drive sales through the engagement of posts, stories, videos, and replies. They will have a passion for fashion and our customers, and lead our values by example.
Our coordinator will have a sense of personal style, polished appearance, refined taste and a discerning eye for our customers. They will understand the importance of accuracy and efficiency in our processes, as well as quality in our assortment and presentation.

EXPECTED DELIVERABLES
• Coordinate execution of photography for each shop based on demand
• Schedule 1-2 pictures (provided via email) daily for each of our 4 shops on
Facebook and Instagram based on optimal engagement times
• Provide playful & useful captions to establish the value of pieces: may include
vendors stories, suggested events, pricing, sizing, shop location, phone number,
business hours, or style tips. Individual pics should contain info relating to it, not just in the main post.
• Source related events and articles to share
• Provide us with feedback and learnings to assist in elevating our social media
presence
• Post relevant feed to our social media “stories” (events and any customer tags)
• Coordinate out-of-shop photo shoots, obtain stock photos as needed
• Feature small businesses, philanthropies, and other relevant local community
organizations
• Share our history and team accomplishments
• Influence posts based on shop demands, “National __ Days” (sparingly and
relevantly), and “Overheard in the Shop” moments
• Partner with team to prepare and post TikTok videos
• Monitor inboxes and comments on posts for appropriate responses and action
items
• Browse vintage, architectural, and Frida-esque photos and catalog for future uses
• Maintain and recruit list of customers for photo shoots, Lives, and pop-ups
• QUALITY over quantity of followers
• Grammar, punctuation, spelling, and content reviewed for errors (#s limited)
• Assign a partner when not in the business to continue deliverables

Experience
• 1+ years of operational experience in service or retail preferred
Education
• High School diploma or equivalent preferred
Physical Requirements
• Ability to lift and mobilize small to medium items up to 50 lbs. while utilizing
appropriate equipment and techniques
• Ability to maneuver effectively around salesfloor, stock room and any office or
storage areas
• Position entails prolonged standing, twisting, stooping, kneeling, squatting,
bending and climbing
