Job Description:
Balletto Vineyards is seeking cellar help for the 2023 harvest. Duties will include every aspect of producing premium Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, Pinot Gris and others in small, distinct lots.

Interns must have a strong work ethic, be willing to work long, extended hours including weekends and have a passion for wine and winemaking. A good sense of humor always helps. The ideal candidate will have prior vintage experience, but exceptional applicants without direct cellar experience will be considered.

The cellar harvest intern plays an integral part in making the highest quality wine possible. Primary duties will include processing and sorting grapes, punch-downs/pumpovers, loading presses, emptying fermentation tanks, barrel consolidations, racking wine, barreling down wine/juice and cleaning. Lots of cleaning. The job is physically demanding and all applicants must be able to lift 50 lbs and perform physically-difficult and often repetitive tasks.

The winery is located west of Santa Rosa and is also the home to a handful of custom crush clients, which will allow interns to see several different winemaking styles and philosophies during the season.

Balletto Vineyards is one of the few 100 percent estate grown and estate bottled wineries in the Russian River Valley. The family-owned winery sources all its fruit from its own vineyards, and specializes in Russian River Valley AVA and vineyard-designated Pinot Noirs and Chardonnays, which are consistently elegant, balanced and delicious.

Job will begin around the first week of August and continue through October (maybe early November) depending on the season

Pay rate will be +/-$18/hr. depending on experience. (There will be overtime and double-time pay during the peak of the season.)

Housing available if needed.
