HOUSTON, TX (NATIONWIDE SEARCH)-Fun-loving and down-to-earth first-time parents in Memorial seek a FULL-TIME NANNY to love and help care for their newborn baby girl, expected to arrive the end of July. The hours for this position are from 10am-6pm Thursday-Monday (must be willing to work weekends!) during the months of August-January. Tuesdays and Wednesdays are OFF. The weekend schedule is preferred, but there is more flexibility after January. They are open to providing temporary housing while the nanny looks for long-term local housing.
The baby will be cared for by a newborn care specialist overnight for the first 3-4 months of her life to get her on a sleep and feeding schedule. The nanny will be responsible for establishing and carrying out the daytime schedule. Mom will be on maternity leave for the first 8 weeks of the child’s life. The nanny will be working alongside her during this time to learn the routine and duties. Mom will be working from home when she returns from maternity leave. At this time, the nanny will be responsible for providing complete infant care independently so mom can focus on work.
Duties include complete infant care, baby’s laundry, picking up/sanitizing toys, meal prep/feeding and keeping baby’s spaces and common areas neat and tidy. They have a full-time housekeeper, so no heavy cleaning is required. They would love for their nanny to utilize local baby classes (i.e. music, storytime, etc.) and leverage a nanny network to socialize their infant. They plan to put her in daycare around 9-12 months of age for more socialization. When this time comes, the nanny will be responsible for taking her to and from daycare and use the time she is there to meal prep for the baby (a plus if you can help meal prep for the family!), baby’s laundry, tidy up, run errands, take inventory and stock baby items, unbox packages, etc. It is preferred that the nanny has their own vehicle, however, if needed by the right candidate, a family car can be provided for use while on the job.
They seek a nanny who is flexible for travel and working occasional evenings, holidays (compensated at time and a half) and overnights. Their travels typically take them to Austin for weekends during the college football season, as well as other domestic travel over extended and occasional international trips. There is potential for more travel down the road as their child grows. The nanny will always be provided with their own private sleeping accommodations while traveling. Travel schedule and overnights will be known in advance.
Parents seek a kind, loving and nurturing PROFESSIONAL CAREER NANNY to be their partner in caring for their child. Someone who can grow with their family and become a true member. They seek a nanny who has prior infant and toddler experience. The ideal candidate can think on their feet, take initiative, be two steps ahead, and anticipate needs before they arise. Someone who is open to sharing ideas but is not too set in their ways and respects the parents as the ultimate decision-makers. They are looking for a true partner whom they can collaborate with to foster their child’s growth and development. Must be knowledgeable of infant care, milestones and development. They have a Corgi in the home (no allergies, please!). Must be vaccinated for tdap, influenza and covid, covid booster.
Benefits include paid sick days, holidays and vacation. Some holidays may be required, but the nanny will be compensated accordingly at time-and-a-half. Pay is commensurate with experience. Start date is the end of July!
