Northwoods Methodist Preschool is a small private preschool that is an educational outreach ministry. Our goal is to provide a quality preschool experience in a loving, Christian environment that respects the individuality of all children. We are looking for part-time Lead Preschool Teachers.
Positions Available: Daily Music Teacher M-F 8:15 am-1:00 pm
3-Year-Old Teacher M-F 8:15 am-12:15 pm
Kinder Prep Teacher M-F 8:00 am -1:00 pm
We are looking for candidates with a degree in Early Childhood/Education, but we will also consider those with 3-5 years of experience working with children.
Preschool Teacher Responsibilities:
Creating daily plans that keep with the philosophy and curriculum of the preschool. Providing various activities that meet the needs of the children assigned to the class. Daily tracking of attendance. Creating a monthly calendar and newsletter following our thematic curriculum. Assessing the children at the beginning and end of the school year. Good communication with parents, including a Parent-Teacher conference at the end of the school year. Creating and maintaining a safe environment.
Music Teacher Responsibilities:
Greeting and unloading children from the carline. Have two songs prepared for our weekly Chapel Time at the preschool. Plan and schedule music sessions for 15-minute class sessions, which include Christian and thematic age-appropriate music and motions. Engage children with various ways to explore music through dance and simple preschool-friendly instruments. The Music Teacher will plan and execute a Christmas program consisting of a variety of Christmas songs to be performed for the parents. The Music Teacher will plan and run an End of Year Program consisting of various songs to be performed by our graduating preschoolers for their parents.
