Designer Drafter

CAD Designer/Drafter
Covington Machine and Welding, Inc. provides complete construction services, including design/build, for a multitude of projects on bridges and highways.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Job consists of transforming conceptual designs into construction documents and shop drawings using 2D and 3D computer aided design (AutoCAD) for client approval, fabrication, construction and installation, as well as the following:
Provide material takeoffs for purchasing and production.
Assemble full submittal packages of all components of the project.
Knowledge of commercial design requirements, standards, materials and construction methods.
Exhibit proficiency in Autodesk product line with emphasis on AutoCAD.
Exhibit proficiency in MS Office, with emphasis on Word and Excel.
Exhibit proficiency in other 3D modeling/rendering software.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
Revise drawings, as directed.
Follow through with appropriate filing and distribution of revised drawings
Participate in department meetings and responsibilities
Able to travel occasionally
Able to work extended hours to meet deadlines when needed
Perform other functions or duties as assigned
Organize detail, material calculation and cover sheet/s
Distribute shop drawings/close-out documents to different departments/clients as necessary
Scan approved, redlines and as-built drawings for records
Organize job folders for easy and faster access of the projects
