CASE MANAGER
Job Description


Has caseload management responsibilities for defendants referred from the Courts or jail. Works with defendants, courts, probation, prosecutors, treatment providers, service agencies and other resources. Manages a caseload in adherence to the procedures established by Friendship Diversion Services, which includes:
INITIAL REVIEW AND INTAKE:
• Review referred court order and file. Tickle deadlines. Follow up with notice to appropriate party for failure to appear defendants.
• Conduct initial interview, including review of intake forms, explanation of program requirements and process, make assessment of client needs, establish fees and schedules per established procedures and enter data in dual databases. Process all documents.
• Enter all data in the database, including follow up appointments for payments and drug screens.
• Observe and document drug screens through urine or oral swabs. Enter database and track information.

CASE MONITORING:

• Meet with defendants as needed for schedule review, payments, drug/alcohol screening and any compliance issues.
• Track defendant movements and/or alcohol consumption through software programs.
• Counsel clients as needed regarding program and/or problem resolution.
• In the event of non-compliance, use established process to notify parties and follow protocol per violation.
• When the program is complete, notify parties of successful completion.
• Review non-compliant/unusual events with Branch Manager and/or Executive Director as needed.
• Complete written reports as required.
• Manage voicemail, email, and messages daily.
• Daily review of cases, including daily review of calendar and to do items.
• Prepare monthly statistical reports
• Intentory control, tracking, receiving, shipping, and bill review
• Contacting and responding to law enforcement entities, court, probation, and prosecutorial staff
• Must maintain and use the notes feature in database to document all actions. Enter all information thoroughly so other staff may assist or maintain caseload in your absence.

Performs general office duties as assigned in support of the program goals for all services provided by Friendship Diversion Services. Will also interact with representatives of monitoring equipment for problem resolution or acquiring information. Other duties as assigned by Branch Manager and/or Executive Director.

This position requires holding clients accountable under the terms of their court orders and the ability to document and report non-compliance.

Minimum Qualifications:

High School Diploma or equivalent.

Valid Washington State Driver’s License and insurance.

Three years’ experience in the criminal justice field, which may be waived
in lieu of related experience.

Ability to multi-task in an often-busy work environment, in multiple compliance programs, following all protocols and procedures.

Experienced in the applications of Windows operating system and general computer programs.

Experienced in case management including using community referrals for client problem solving and holding clients accountable.
