JOB DESCRIPTION
Position: Medical Biller, Retina Surgery
Reports to: VP, Billing Services
Salary: Hourly, $22.00/hour
Hours: Part-time
We are currently looking for a driven medical biller, who specializes in retina surgery, committed to helping a start-up get off the ground. The position will begin as part-time but would move to full-time in the near future as business grows. The role of a Medical Biller, Retina Surgery is to manage all efforts by the company's billing services for retina surgery. This individual will work closely with the VP, Billing Services of HMC to ensure the business is providing high-level billing services to our clients.
Basic Responsibilities
• Code and bill claims for retina surgery clients
• Handles all accounts receivable for clients, which includes:
– Entering insurance payments
– Working denials, researching and submitting corrected claims
• Submit monthly reports with key billing metrics to VP, Billing Services
• Work with clients directly to ensure all needs are being met, providing high-level customer support
Preferred Skills
• Must have experience working with retina surgery billing
• Must have coding experience
• Must have experience with several different practice management systems
• Follow up with field staff when issues need to be resolved
• Ensure consistent processes are in place to support both high volume and high quality
• Ensure the department systems of internal controls are designed, maintained, executed, monitored, and refined to ensure accuracy, timely and fair reporting of all transactions, completeness, and protect the company’s assets
Required Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree preferred
• Certified coder certification preferred; however, if you have experience, not required
• At least 1 year of billing experience
• Experience with a start-up is preferred, but not required
