Hygienist with Benefits
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Hygienist at A+ Family Dentistry is a key member of the team, working closely with our dentists to ensure a dynamic and memorable patient experience. This role is responsible for the delivery of exceptional dental care through conducting initial patient screenings, cleaning teeth, and educating patients on oral health and preventative care. The Hygienist is the patient’s advocate throughout their dental experience, providing meaningful patient feedback with compassion. We have two additional locations in Poway and Sorrento Valley, please submit an application and we can discuss proximity and professional preference.

PERFORMANCE OBJECTIVES:
-Create a positive and individualized experience for each patient
-Ensure patients are well informed on their dental condition, problems and understand their recommended treatment plan
-Inspire patients to accept follow through with their recommended treatment plan and commit to continuing care
-Promptly schedule patient follow-up appointments and inform patients about our office scheduling policy
-Accurately identify conditions like gingivitis, periodontitis, caries and malocclusion
-Meticulously manage documentation and charts on each patient
-Precisely maintain dental instruments, supplies and equipment inventory, and other ancillary duties
-Proactively collaborate with other team members to meet the company’s purpose and KPIs
-Collect and record patient health history
-Gather patient testimonials and online reviews
-Promote the company’s Mission Vision to patients and potential team members

-Accountable and coachable to learn the A+ Family Dentistry Way of delivering dental care which includes but are not limited to:
-Providing dental health education about dental diseases (decay, gum infection, mal-occlussion, etc…), home care and nutrition
-Removing plaque/calculus by scaling, root planing and polishing teeth
-Taking digital scan (Itero) and dental radiographs of teeth
-Education and delivering adjunctive services such as laser and Arestin
-Applying prophylactic/antibacterial materials, fissure sealants, and topical fluorides to help prevent tooth decay
-Carrying out Restorative screening and monitoring procedures
-Recommending referral to appropriate specialists such as Periodontist, Oral Surgeon, Endodontist as indicated
-Experience successfully maintaining a positive attitude while working in a team environment with competing priorities
-Ability to engage with patients, providers, and team members building professional relationships
-Strong written and verbal communication skills
-Ability to be flexible and accept different work assignments within the practice, with a positive approach
-Outstanding organization and administrative skills
-Ability to think individually as well as collaboratively when approaching job responsibilities
-Ability to demonstrate initiative, dependability, and promptness
-Ability to exercise confidentiality with patients and patient care
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
-High School Diploma or Equivalent (GED), (Required)
-California Registered Dental Hygienist license, (Required)
-A valid CPR Card, (Required)
-Laser Certification (Preferred), open to become certified within 30 days, (Required)
-Ability to pass a criminal background check, (Required)
-Minimum 2yrs of Hygiene experience, (Preferred)
