RESPONSIBILITIES
Assist in management of chronic wounds. Perform evaluations, changing dressings, debridements and monitoring healing
Manage treat patients with sacral pressure ulcers
Conduct comprehensive and interval physical assessments of patients
Order and interpret appropriate labs, radiological studies and other tests per established criteria and monitor scheduling of patients for special tests
Collaborate with multidisciplinary team in providing superior patient care
Perform common procedures to include: debridement of ulcers; application of grafts; dressing changes; referring to collaborating specialties
Provide nursing education and guidance for providing wound care needs between appointments
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Qualifications:
Master's degree in Nurse Practitioner studies from an accredited program
Current license to practice as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) in the State of Utah
Must have minimum of 1 year of working as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant
Preferred Qualifications:
Wound Experience as an Advanced Practice Provider
Wound Certification – not mandatory but must be willing to obtain once hired
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
Self-starter – creative in seeking out opportunities for improved delivery of care in addition to personal growth
Ability to work with many disciplines
Function independently but also work effectively with residents and assist in their education of chronic wounds and care of patients in the Limb Preservation Clinic
Flexibility and collaborative attitude
Dependable, confident, and organized
