The position is a full-time position, and it includes Mondays to Fridays cooking and prepping help in the kitchen.
8 hours shifts to be determined.
We offer $18 per hour paid weekly.
If you stay longer than a year, we offer paid leave calculated on the average of the hours worked for the year divided by 52. This is paid leave to be taken in the second year or we pay the value in December. (To be discussed and explained)
Staff gets less 25% on all items in store except alcohol, beer cider and wine, this gets less 10%
Tasks to be covered but we train all staff be fluent in the total business of the lighthouse.
Some of the responsibilities of a Market Associate may become part of your duties once you settled in and there is time to train and when kitchen is not so busy , mainly out of season.
Prep Cook
Completing all tasks, in order, on the prep list from the Head Chef or other kitchen manager
Labeling and stocking all ingredients on easily accessible shelves
Washing, chopping and sorting ingredients like fruits, vegetables and meats
Measuring quantities of seasonings and other cooking ingredients
Parboiling food, reducing sauces and starting first steps in various dishes
Cleaning dishes, washing cooking utensils and cookware, taking out the trash and sanitizing kitchen
Adhering to all relevant nutrition and sanitary regulations and standards
Keeping track of ingredient inventory and collaborating with other kitchen and management staff to order resupply
Daily cleaning the store is part of all staff duties
Market Associate
Strong customer service skills are required due to a large interaction with customers.
Steaming lobsters, handling lobster and making all kind of sandwiches, soups, dips, salads
Retail and kitchen experience is an advantage.
Baking, and or cooking of high-quality foods a plus.
Seafood handling, packaging, daily cleaning and organizing, stocking inventory, ordering inventory.
Wine, cheese and craft beer knowledge a plus.
Requirements;
Applicants must be able to lift 50 lbs. on a regular basis during a shift.
Bending, squatting and range of motion is frequent.
Must be able to stand on feet for long periods of time, walk is part of daily routine.
