Position growing high-quality plants within a wholesale nursery setting by taking an active role in production from seed and cutting, watering, trimming, transplanting crops, and maintenance.
This temporary position has opportunities to move into a full-time permanent position based on performance and company needs.
Essential Functions and Duties
• Quickly working the line, filling flats, labeling, planting, and moving products in accordance with plans and schedules set forth by production personnel
• maintaining plant health
• Lifting and carrying the merchandise as needed
• Operate manual equipment such as hand jacks and wheeled carts safely.
• maintaining a clean, safe, and organized work environment
• Work effectively to meet or exceed productivity goals while maintaining high-quality standards.
Preferred Skills and Qualifications:
• Botanical knowledge –basic understanding of plant care, soil quality, and greenhouse protocol
• Attention to detail –identify plant needs and provide special care and attention when needed
• Teamwork and Communication skills – good verbal communication and ability to work on a team to coordinate and effectively complete activities during a shift
• Must be 18 years or older and eligible to work in the United States
• Must be able to work in all Greenhouse conditions
• Must be able to work with repetitive motion
• Must be able to stand/or walk for at least an 8-hour period
• Must be able to lift or move up to 50lbs, and push/pull racks on wheels of 100lbs with or without reasonable accommodation.
• All applicants must have reliable transportation, must be dependable, work weekends, over time and 6 days a week when required
