Oak Bros Grounds Operations Specialist Job Description

Position Overview
Performs all groundwork, including the operation of various pieces of power equipment. This person frequently assists the Crew Leader, Aerial Lift Specialist, or Tree Climber Specialist with aspects of their work. Ground Operations Specialist training addresses:



Job Duties
What You’ll Do:
• Cultivate your career and fertilize your future!
• Assisting and working with climbers/lift operator, such as Line handling (working with ropes)
• Learn and use Basic knots
• Keep trucks organized such as storing chain saws, gas and oil
• Use correct chain saw PPE
• Operating chain saws
• Cutting spring poles
• Conduct proper bucking techniques
• Conduct proper tree-felling techniques (notch, back cut, hinge)
• Respect work-zone, landing-zone, drop zone guidelines
• Set up and position a chipper
• Drag and stack brush manually or with mini skid
• Feed the chipper
• Drive, use, maintain and properly operate equipment and trailers.
Qualifications
What We’re Looking For:
• Love of the outdoors
• Preferred: Background in Forestry, Horticulture or Landscaping
• Preferred: Tree and shrub ID
• Ability to complete the Oak Bros Tree Care Grounds Operations training program upon hire
• Ability to complete the Oak Bros Tree Care First Aid, CPR and defensive driving course upon hire
• Valid CDL License, ability to obtain within 30 days of employment
• Team Oriented
• Experience Parking and backing vehicles
