Nanny
Awesome family seeks a FULL-TME NANNY to help care for their 2 girls, ages 4- and 2.5-years-old. Both girls are in school. The eldest attends daily, from 8:40-11:40, with an extension on Tuesday and Friday until 2:15. She has ballet on Monday, gymnastics on Wednesday, and swim on Thursday afternoon. The youngest is in school Monday/Wednesday/Friday from 9-12 (she will be in school 5 days per week come next year). She has gymnastics on Tuesday at 10 and swim Thursday at 10am.
A typical schedule looks like 11am-5pm Monday, 8am-6pm Tuesday, 11am-6pm Wednesday, 8am-6pm (or as late as 10pm if both parents have an event) Thursday and 11am-5pm Friday. The hours will never be cut and dry; it will not be a 9-5 job. Generally, there will be a set schedule (as parents know well in advance of any late nights). Some days, it could be leaving early or coming late, some days staying late or coming in early, etc. Flexibility is key! They provide some flexibility in return.
LIVE-OUT candidates are preferred, but the family is open to a live-in nanny who can live in 5 days per week and live out on weekends. Live-in accommodations consist of a private third floor with a separate living area, bedroom, and bathroom, or a walkout finished basement with its own entrance and exit, bathroom, and bedroom. Mom works from home in a designated office. They have an 11-year-old French Bulldog who does not require care other than being let out and fed on occasion if the parents have a late engagement. No dog allergies, please!
Duties include lunch and dinner prep for the kids, tidying the children’s room, picking up toys, and doing a final “check” to ensure the girls’ items are ready to go for the day. Additional duties include laundry for the children, baths, taking them to and from school and activities (family car provided), and setting up playdates/planning activities to keep them active and engaged during the day. They have housekeepers clean the home twice per week, so there is no heavy cleaning other than cleaning up after meal and keeping the kids’ toys/playroom/strollers and family car neat and tidy. They travel as a family to their shore house for a week in the summer and enjoy visiting Jamaica. While it is not required, they would love for their nanny to join them on their travels! Overnights occur approximately once per month max.

She is dependent in terms of never wanting to do activities on her own, and instead wants someone to do activities with her (painting, coloring, crafts, cooking). She is very into learning to ride her bike, visiting the playground, baking/cooking, dolls, crafts, and swimming. The youngest is carefree, funny, cool, unbothered, cuddly, and independent. She is hysterical and marches to the beat of her own drum. She is very into playing with her babies and will play with a fuzz in the carpet to entertain herself. She's just warming up to school.
They seek a nanny who is a responsible, self-starter who will be present, loving, and caring with their kids. Someone who is passionate about children, learning, and having fun; not just collecting a paycheck. The girls are at the age where they like to push some boundaries. Thus, they seek a nanny who can be loving yet firm when needed. The ideal candidate is creative and will engage with them and truly play. They seek a nanny who can help make sure the girls are also engaging with others and arranging play dates. Someone who is proactive in planning activities for the day and getting the children out and playing.
Pay is $25-30+/hour depending on experience. Benefits include paid sick days, holidays and vacation. Start date is ASAP!
