Employer Description:
KnILE Center is an educational and youth wellness center that houses a 1st-12th grade private micro-school (KNILE Prep Academy), and tutoring service (EduCoach Now), in addition to other offerings. We offer a blended program and present a whole child approach to learning. Classes are broken down into the following classes (may vary depending on students’ needs, class sizes, etc.): elementary classroom (1st- 4th Bridge) grades, middle school classroom (4th – 6th Bridge), junior high classroom (6th -8th grades) and high school classroom (9th-12th grades).

KnILE Prep Academy works with a variety of students from neurodivergent (e.g. students with learning concerns, dyslexia, ADHD, anxiety, sensory concerns, autism, etc.), general education, exceptional students, or students in search of a smaller, more customized approach to learning. We offer low student-teacher ratios, and offer accommodations for students that need it, differentiated assignments and paces, and more to help students learn in a way that works for them.

QUALIFICATIONS:
-Proof of College Degree (required) or Higher Education Degree (a plus)
-Proof of Teacher Training or current Teaching Certification
-Minimum. 2 Years classroom experience
-Strong computer skills and can demonstrate proficiency in applied technology (Microsoft Office, Google, etc.)
-Must be able to learn new computer programs. (ie. Our online Curriculum)
-Strong classroom and behavioral management skills
-Comfortable with ALL 9th -12th grade level subjects as listed in the TEA min standards.
-Be comfortable with college prep and SAT/ACT Testing formats
-Proficient in English language (required), Spanish and other languages (a plus)
-Possess excellent interpersonal and good communication skills.
-Must have a high level of integrity regarding student records, employment records,ETC.
-Be self-motivated and possess the ability to work under pressure, able to handle multiple tasks, and work collaboratively.
-Possess both strong leadership skills and be able to work in a team setting
-Demonstrate Professionalism and strong organizational skills
-Be compassionate, energetic, adaptive and flexible
-Be creative and think outside the box
*Be available for summer / extended year course (mornings, M – Th for 6 wks)
-SpEd, ABA, Dyslexia, SEL, and the like…training or proficient *Not required but recommended*


ANNUAL SALARY/PAY GRADE:
$34,000-$36,000
Salary Range (based on experience enrollment, *summer school)

Responsibilities:
-Base knowledge of all high school level subjects
-Be willing to alter your teaching style to suit the students needs
-Represent the mission statement of KnILE Prep Academy at all times.
-Follow Policies Procedures set forth by KnILE Prep Academy
-Be comfortable working with students who have social, emotional and learning difficulties.
-Be able to mentor, teach, and reteach subject matters to the students.
-Be able to keep good records.
-Be a good support system for these students.
-Able to communicate with parents in a timely and effective manner both verbally and through email..
-Handle and manage minor student behaviors and concerns internally within the classroom
-Be engaging, innovative and be willing to move around the classroom (NOT a “behind the desk” teacher)
-Able to follow guidelines and expectations
-Ability to work with and manage individual student learning plans
-Ability to adapt and change while providing a personalized experience for all students
-Demonstrate a professional leadership image as a representative of the agency.
-Offer a dynamic learning experience to the students

Job Summary:
Highschool Lead Teacher (9TH – 12th grade) is responsible for helping with development and implementation of lesson plans and best practices to fill in any existing gaps and develop more independent learners and higher level thinkers to be ready to tackle their next level of educational development – College. Highschool Lead will utilize our online core curriculum and blend it with offline, teacher taught, subject specific courses, in addition to small group interactions and collaboratives to offer a well-rounded approach to teaching and learning. The Highschool Lead will need to be proficient and comfortable with teaching and reteaching 9th, 10th, 11th , 12th subject level courses as listed by TEA minimum standards. Highschool Lead will need to be able to observe, evaluate, teach, reteach, and supplement learning as needed for content mastery and higher level cognition. He or She must also be willing and able to model and teach good social and problem-solving skills and be open to work with students in all aspects of learning, including (but not limited to) their mental, emotional, social, physical and academic growth. This class uses both online and hands-on pedagogy to allow for both concrete and abstract approaches to learning.
