Community Builder
Position Summary:

The Community Builder will work closely with the Community Engagement and Development team and the Community Engagement and Empowerment group to implement outreach and support to East Oakland Residents. The Community Builder will also build relationships with business, stakeholders and other key members of the East Oakland community.



Position Duties and Responsibilities:

Team Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Liaising with team members concerning team roles, responsibilities, and areas

Assisting in the planning and implementation of team projects and initiatives

Helping to coordinate and manage project and initiative tasks and deliverables.

Analyzing, presenting, and reporting on key performance indicators and progress

Coordinating routine and non-routine tasks and activities including, but not limited to, scheduling and documenting meetings, account and vendor management, and operations support including administration and finance support.

Performing other duties required to support Team roles and responsibilities.

Group and Project Role Summary:



Project Coordination

Work with other BCZ teams when necessary to complete and coordinate outreach, including coordinating outreach logistics

Coordinate routine and non-routine tasks within the CED team when necessary

Community Engagement and Outreach

Conduct regular outreach to the East Oakland community, including canvassing and door to door outreach efforts

Work with other BCZ Community Builders to coordinate and plan outreach efforts

Build and leverage relationships with key stakeholders, community members, businesses and organizations to better support the community

Make regular presentations to the community when necessary

Reporting and Data Entry

Maintain database with information about outreach activities, including contacts made. Maintain database in Salesforce when necessary

Support the completion of any reports to funders for any outreach and community builder projects

Report on any KPIs and deliverables

Qualifications
Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

Good communication and interpersonal skills sufficient to maintain strong community and organizational relationships.

Strong organizational and multitasking skills

Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.

Team-coordination and leadership skills

Documentation management and ability to use project management tools.

Attention to details even under pressure.

Time management skills with the ability to meet deadlines.

Word processing, spreadsheet, email and project management software familiarity and basic skills

Physical Demands:

Essential functions of the position require the employee to use a telephone, work at a standard computer terminal and be able to follow reasonable ergonomic recommendations, sit for long periods of time, repetitive motions, stand, reach, lift and carry 20 pounds, and bend. Valid Driver’s License and current auto insurance required for logistics and event coordination.
