Job Description:
-Develops, plans, and prepares weekly lessons for the classroom.
-Assists and supervises children during all activities.
-Recognizes the social, emotional, physical and cognitive needs of children and counsels children utilizing developmentally appropriate practices.
-Assists children with meal times and personal care as needed.
-Arranges classroom into well-defined interest areas.
-Completes all center/classroom paperwork- e. g., daily notes, student accident reports, attendance records.
-Maintains a portfolio using our system including new pieces every month for every child with an anecdotal note.
-Completes conferences and developmental checklist 2 times per year or as needed.
-Ensures that appearance, cleanliness and safe environment of the classroom is properly maintained to meet Goddard, NAEYC, and licensing standards.
-Develops and maintains a professional relationship with parents in which appropriate information is communicated in a timely manner.
-Maintains classroom binders, cubby tags, sunscreen/diaper cream authorizations, bulletin boards, hallway art and windows. ---Makes sure they are updated every 30 days.
-Ensures that classroom medication policy is followed.
-Ensures that all classroom/outdoor equipment is in proper working condition and maintained properly.
-Promotes Goddard s program to the parents and community. Meets and communicates appropriately with prospective families. Assists with center tours as needed.
-Complies with Goddard and state regulations regarding the care of the children. Keeps the Director informed of all necessary information regarding the care and safety of children.
-Attends and participates in all staff trainings, center events and parent meetings as requested.
-Assists and accepts responsibility in other daily center duties that might be temporary in the event other personnel are not available.
-Promotes communication with parents by providing a monthly newsletter to parents.
