We are seeking radical individuals to join our team at Karuna Kava Bar and Zero-proof Lounge. At Karuna Kava Bar, we are harnessing the powers of nature to create euphoric, interesting, and delicious zero-proof beverages. Elevate your beverage game, and learn about the drink of the gods.
Kava is a plant native to the South Pacific Islands. The roots of the Kava Plant are rich in compounds which are relaxing, calming, and uplifting. Kava roots have been brewed in water and consumed for over 3000 years throughout the South Pacific. Many use kava as an alternative to alcohol, as its effects are socially enjoyable without inebriation or intoxication. Karuna Kava Bar specializes in producing the highest quality of kava on Earth, alongside a plethora of other natural plant concoctions, tonics, and zero-proof beverages.
Responsibilities
Acquire an adequate knowledge of kava, teas, and other products
Serve customers promptly and accurately.
Make and serve tea, coffee, and other misc. hot beverages
Adequately inform the guest about the products they are consuming
Assess customer needs and make recommendations or suggestions.
Handle payments and responsibly handle / deposit cash.
Help fulfill online orders
Maintain a clean environment within the kava bar throughout your shift (sweeping, wiping down surface areas, tidying up)
Properly wash and sterilize dishes (teapots, mugs, glasses, etc)
Stock products/bar supplies and maintain inventory
Create a relaxed, "high vibe" environment
Comply with all food and beverage regulations (handwashing, temp checking, etc.)
Nurture a positive experience for your guests, coworkers, and most importantly, yourself
Bonus Qualifiers for Hire
Experience working with coffee and tea+++
Social Media Marketing experience +++
Bartending or other front of house service in restaurants +++
Experience within the Wellness Economy (yoga, sound healing, breathwork, bodywork, meditation, etc.) +++
Back of House kitchen experience +++
