Over the course of a growing season our Field Crew gains the full experience of operating a diversified organic vegetable farm from start to finish. Staff begins the season seeding in the propagation greenhouse and flipping tunnel space for early season crops. As conditions warm work moves outdoors building trellising for peas, transplanting growing seedlings, and preparing bed space for future crops. Cultivating established crops and harvesting are routine tasks through the weeks of summer.

Once harvests begin, farm staff manage share distribution in the barn on a rotating basis, washing and stocking the pick-up room and interacting with CSA members. Leading workshifts with CSA members in the field is another regular task once warm weather sets in. Having an on-site pick up and workshifts for membership contributes to the uniquely strong connection our members have with the farm and to our low member turnover rate.

The work week is typically 40 hours with days beginning around 7 or 8 am depending on the time of year. Our smallish crew of 4-6 works closely together and we strive to promote an environment of support and encouragement. Bringing a harvest season to a successful completion together is a profoundly rewarding experience.
