Great Harvest Bread Company is hiring for multiple positions - baker, front counter and production specialist! Pay rate range from $14.5 to $22/hr!! We’re looking for hardworking, outgoing, friendly and fun people to join our growing family.

Front Counter and Sandwich Production - Our customers can buy bread, goodies, and sandwiches just about anywhere. What entices them into Great Harvest Bread Company? You! The folks behind our front counter set our store apart from all others. Can you put a smile on your face even when you don’t feel like it? Can you keep your cool under pressure, accept criticism graciously, and create a WOW experience for every customer that walks into our store? Are you naturally friendly and helpful? And are you willing to jump in and help where needed?

1. Answer the phone when it rings, answer questions and take preorders.
2. Give every customer something generous from the bread board, whether they spend money in the store or not.
3. Run the register, and close it if you’re working a closing shift.
4. Track everything that’s put on the bread board throughout the day so we can account for that product.
5. Keep front counter, lobby, and sandwich area clean, tidy, and well stocked.
6. Sandwich production – take the orders and prepare the sandwiches as needed
7. Prepare sandwich ingredients (spreads, sauces, cut meats and cheeses, etc)
8. Make sure to keep all produce and prepped ingredients labelled and dated in sandwich area
9. Rotate inventory properly, first in first out!
10. ABC – always be cleaning! Baker - ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned:
• Ensures that all bread products proof properly before going into the oven.
• Uses multi-timer pins, thermometers, product knowledge and intuitive judgment to adjust baking duration to ensure that all baked products meet Great Harvest standards of quality and consistency.
• Develop a “single loaf” attitude about oven work recognizing that every customer judges the entire business on the loaf he or she is eating.
• Visits the breadboard regularly, slices hot bread, and tastes the bread, to determine moisture and consistency and ensure the quality of the oven work. Also takes bread home to determine how it ages (all bread tastes great hot!) and to ensure that it maintains an unrefridgerated “shelf-life” of at least a week.
• Maintains baking records on dough consistency, dough temperatures, internal bread temperatures, etc., in order to learn patterns of consistency and learn how to adapt to fluctuating variables.
• Helps Goodies Baker with products by monitoring baking and removing from oven.
• Removes baked bread from sheet –pans promptly to ensure proper cooling.
• Assists at the kneading table between batches.
• Ensures product orders are filled by pulling products upon removal from oven.
• Follows all company policies and procedures.
• Performs other job-related duties as assigned and takes initiative to enhance the bakery cafe’s ambiance.
• Be available extra hours during holiday seasons (Easter, Thanksgiving and Christmas at a minimum).


EXPERIENCE
Dough experience unnecessary; position will receive on-the-job training.
These gigs ranges from $14.5 - $22, and we’re looking for full time and/or part time folks. We do require people who are over the age of 18 due to the federal safety laws surrounding some of the equipment we use.
