Position: Office and Facilities Manager
Reports to: Lead Pastor
Supervises: Facility and Operational Support Staff
Status: 40 hours per week, with benefits
Compensation: $25.00/hr
Summary
The Office and Facilities Manager will be a can-do personality who is willing to wear many hats, solve problems, has a mind for details and also sees the big picture and thinks about systems. This person will ensure that MCC facility, communications and operational support systems effectively serve the essential ministry objectives of the congregation and ministry staff. The Office and Facilities Manager will also provide administrative support to the Lead Pastor in the facilitation of these objectives and to the Council Chair as necessary in council and congregational communication.

Essential Functions
Coordinate the use of facility and grounds by ministry leaders and community members
Communicate widely our desire to offer the church campus for community needs and events
Regularly audit and oversee improvements in MCC communications including the church website and weekly newsletter
Maintain MCC databases and files
Oversee the overall ministry calendar of the church
Manage the Pastor’s calendar and assist with planned ministry meetings and events as requested
Ensure requests and concerns of congregation members are passed on in a timely manner to the appropriate ministry staff person(s)
Manage communications requested by the Lead Pastor, ministry staff, and the Chair of the Church Council intended for the benefit of the congregation, our community and our denomination
Hire and supervise custodial staff, landscaping and other maintenance work ensuring that the facilities are clean and well-maintained
Work in tandem with HR to hire, onboard and offboard staff
Manage the church office reception team and hospitality team for regular and special events
Order necessary facility and office supplies
Organize and maintain all storage areas around the church campus
Print and distribute the annual report
Oversee and update church signage to ensure it reflects the values of the church and maintains accuracy
Facilitate weddings, collecting information from the couple about their facility usage and needs and connecting them to church-approved coordinators and sound technicians
Ensure repairs happen promptly, and HVAC and lighting systems are working properly

Skills
Excellent management, interpersonal and intercultural skills
Critical thinking skills to apply logic and reasoning in identifying the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to address challenges
Detail oriented, strong organization, prioritization and time-managements skills
Highly proficient in Google Drive, email and operating a copy machine
Proficiency in Microsoft and Windows applications, databases development and management, and web technologies. Strong word processing, writing and spreadsheet skills
Ability to track and report progress on a wide range of tasks, simultaneously
Works well under pressure and can accomplish multiple tasks, with conflicting priorities and timelines
Ability to respond to and deal with a range of ad hoc queries/requests. Maintains flexibility in approach and adjusts actions with appropriate
Accepts criticism and deals calmly and effectively with high stress situations
Ability to operate with discretion and confidentiality at all times
Self-starter, with the ability to work independently

Environment Conditions
Able to work well in professional office setting and occasional congregational settings. Must be versatile and able to work for prolonged segments sitting or standing. Must engage frequently with office tools and equipment such as: computer, copier, phone, web-conferencing equipment, cell phone communication, printers, etc. Must be able to safely lift or move items, up to 50 lbs. Occasionally pack and unpack, move and lift boxes.
