Job Description:
We are seeking a Radiology (x-ray) Tech to assist during vascular angiographic procedures that are performed in an outpatient setting at Bloomfield Vein & Vascular. We have a state-of-the-art C-arm that functions to image the appropriate anatomy while we perform vascular cases. This job does not entail knowing how to operate a fixed imaging unit, as those are commonly seen in a hospital setting.
The appropriate candidate coordinates and performs a variety of vascular diagnostic radiographic and fluoroscopic examinations, focusing on the lower extremity arteries and veins. The individual is responsible for acquiring the necessary imaging to safely perform an intervention. The individual may assist other members of the procedure team to ensure the safety and well-being of the patients.
Skills and Knowledge:
The individual demonstrates proficiency when working with Picture Archiving and Communicating Systems (PACS) to transmit, archive and retrieve digital images and demonstrate knowledge of and complies with all Federal, State, and local regulatory requirements.
This job offers a competitive hourly wage, with great hours. There are no holidays, weekends, or nights. Working in an Office-Based Lab (OBL) is very different from working in a hospital. In our angiography suite, you are part of a very small team that helps to take great care of patients and you are treated with respect and professionalism. You have time for lunch, and you get to work with others who are terrific at what they do and enjoy the benefits of being in a collegial environment. The typical work week entail working 3 days a week. For the right individual, we would contemplate additional hours and additional responsibilities.
The job involves not only performing the angiographic evaluation during vascular procedures but also working with Intra Vascular Ultrasound (IVUS) to complement the radiographic images. Being an assistant to a vascular surgeon is also part of what makes this job a great fit for the right individual.
If you do not have experience operating a C-arm to perform vascular interventions, we will teach you. The job would also entail learning how to scrub/assist and learning IVUS. You will acquire new skills that will only enhance your experience.
