Direct Support Professional – Group Home.
Direct Support Professional: Provides direct support services to Individuals with Intellectual Disabilities. Maintain an environment that is safe, healthy, and comfortable for all the individuals that we serve.
A Direct Support Professional is responsible for the following:
Direct Support Professionals will work with adult individuals with Intellectual disabilities in community settings and shall report directly to the residential supervisor.
Assists in the coordination and transportation of Individuals to and from their residence, to and from various work or contract assignments, medical appointments throughout the day.
Supervises guides, directs, and protects the Individuals.
Administer and documents all medications scheduled during the shift.
Aids with activities of daily life (i.e. hygiene, toileting, grooming, dressing, meal preparation, laundry household chores, etc.).
Understands and participates in developing and implementing individual treatment plan for each Individual.
Writes detailed summaries of progress made towards the Individual’s outcomes in Progress Notes and submits them every 3 months.
Attend staff meetings and other meetings as required.
Provides shift report and holiday coverage on a rotating basis.
Participates in on-going training to learn various behavior management methods and techniques. Remains up to date and in compliance with required trainings.
Cooperates with management, Program Specialist(s), other staff, and the Office of Developmental Programs (or their designee) in all inspections and investigations.
Evacuating and supporting of Individuals in emergency situations.
Direct Support Professional qualifications:
Must be 18 years or older.
Valid driver’s license.
High School diploma, G.E.D. or higher.
One-year experience or more working with Individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities or working in community based residential programs.
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $15.00 - $16.00 per hour
